Prison Evangelism

One of our members, Daryl Townsend, serves the Lord as an evangelist in the N. Florida prisons. The church here and other local churches provide direct financial support to Daryl in his work as an evangelist.

Daryl also operates a not for profit 501 (c) (3) Florida Corporation called Off The Chain Ministries. Individuals, not local churches, help to financially support Off The Chain Ministries.

Off The Chain’s mission is to provide care, study, and leadership to those looking for freedom and grace from past life experiences. Since 2006 Daryl has been operating a transition housing program to help men transition back into society after their release from prison. The brethren here welcome “the transition guys” and offer them the care and love of an encouraging family of fellow Christians. Many of those who “graduate” from the transition program remain in Middleburg to continue their new life and worship with us because they value the spiritual support of their church family.
